Unlike our nameless guess I publicly state that yes there are two teams presently over the cap. These two teams should have had something done to them this season but with Andrea's run-ins with the sick bug and her frequent visitor plan at the local ER she hasn't had a chance. Washington and San Jose should get things under control over the off-season or face explusion from league, if everyone else is following the rules why do these two figure it's alright not to? It's not like they are a little over either. Washington sits at $65,251,317.00 and stands to be close to 4 million in hole by season's end. While San Jose is at $68,776,747.00 nearly 10 million over cap. IF San Jose is to win league Championship I think there will be more than a few pissed off people here.

Its ridiculous that I was rushing to make a last minute deal at deadline to get under the cap moving Yashin while San Jose sits there with that payroll. I thought the rules were something to the extent of teams over the cap had there best player gone until they got back under and in this teams case it would have to be more than one player. Washington atleast is not still going for the championship and they can sort there salary situation out however its fucked that a team still fighting for the cup is so far over the cap especially when you look at who San Jose is playing, Chicago who probably has the hardest time of all with Palffy, Tkachuk, Pronger, Holik, Lang eating up his salary cap on horrible contracts (aside from Pronger who is worth as much as he can make) and he can still be under the cap. Seriously the rules need to be enforced here, what fun is a league where somebody has an extreme advantage over everyone else. If I thought I could have had an extra ten million or so I would have kept Yashin and picked up somebody elses salary dump and had one more star on the roster and yes they were available. Rant over

Just like in the NHL the salery cap no longer is in effect, as the players are not being paid. Its not like ive traded and went over the cap, I have mearly called up a couple guys that played in the farm this season. Anybody could of done this, there was nowhere written that you had to trade your players to get under the cap. At the very beginning I had these guys in the minors.

Lol we arent in the NHL and we dont use the NHL CBA, infact rules were put in eg the players being able to play out of position to make it more of a fantasy league. The rule page isnt up for us to see all we can see is that your finance page lists you at 68 mill or whatever which means at the moment your roster is over the cap limit and breaking the rules. Please show me where in the rules it was specified otherwise because NO it is not "just like in the NHL" ofcourse if the commish clears it up then ill happily shut my mouth but for now it seems pretty dodgy, and most leagues have rules about certain aged players of certain overall rating not being allowed in the farm system to prevent things like this happening so is that also in the rules?

Hi, Chicago here, when I was over the cap in the middle of the season I had a top player, Pallfy, with an HO status (holding out) I managed to work a few things and got back under the cap. But its a little too late now to be complaining about this...I believe it was mentioned a few months ago (by me) that teams were over the cap with no HO status on any of their players, like mine did. But lets just forget this for now, and hopefully it will get fixed in the off season. After all its only the first season and alot of bugs seem to have to be worked out.
I'll try my best to squeak out a victory!!! (series tied 2-2 at time of post!!)
Good luck everyone
Chicago GM Dave

James what do you take us for? Anyone that really thinks about this knows you purposely placed those overpriced players on the farm (Stevens) to stay close to cap. Rules should have been enforced to have you remove such players. I hope for league's sake someone else wins Championship so you're little scam doesn't work. Next season with help of the AB these rules will not only be enforced but the actions will actually be gone through with.

Im totaly against the crap San Jose pulled, but the Kid is right, no cap in playoffs so for this year his scam worked (no rules page either so double whammy)... Now lets stop bashing him for finding a loophole we all wished we discovered. Now i think we are all aware of what happened and with new things being discussed so these things wont happen next yr... Its not his fault this is the only way he can win in Fantasy hockey. Congrats Atlanta..... Ill be there for you SOON

Its not his fault this is the only way he can win in Fantasy hockey. Congrats Atlanta..... Ill be there for you SOON I called up, Linden and Stevens and that has put me over the cap. 1) take a look at there saleries and ask yourself who would want these guys at that price, I bet you wouldnt! I tried trading them before the season had started and of course no takers. They played the whole season in the farm, minus a couple games with injuries.. They did not help me win the league title, and having them in the playoffs are not giving me a huge advantage either, linden is on the 4th line and Stevens is on the 3rd dman pairing. Its not like I did this on purpuse and kept star players on the farm and to bring them into the playoffs to help me win, they were "depth" guys that made WAY too much money. If at the start we were able to challenge some of the saleries like I had asked time and time again we wouldnt be faced with this, luckly this off season hopefully most of the leagues over paid players will start to see a pay decrease to even things out. Bitch all you want about me and my team, I can care less. I won the league title without Stevens and Linden so its not like these 2 are pytting me over the top.

Ok San Jose i was on your side in that post but you insist on fueling this fire... As i recall, and as a stoner this is few and far between.. I recall offering every single youthful player and pick for stevens and linden just before the deadline (and since i delt them all for vets it show's i was willing to part with youth)... go check your msn history... and as i recall you told me you were holding them for the playoffs.. again msn history... you knew exactally what you were doing and so did I since the time of me joining at game 50 and I brought this up to Andrea. You can chalk your sucess up to whatever you want and I wont take that away, but dont claim stupidity when you pulled off something smart. Ill be looking for loopholes next year to take advantage of.
