The latest news out of Leaf Land,is that the Toronto Maple Leafs make their first two deals of the season.First they traded Vesa Toskala and Ales Kotalik to their bitter rivals the Montreal Canadiens for Brian Boucher,Jeff Friesen and Mark Parrish. Then their second trade, they traded veteran center Brenden Morrison to the Detriot Red Wings for young up and commer R.J Umberger and a 2nd round draft pick in the prospects draft.
I caught up with Gm Jason Parnell about the deals that he had made and he had this to say''I hated to trade Morrison but to get a guy of Umberger's potential I couldn't pass up the chance and also to get a decent prospect in the draft, and I got some veteran help in goal and at forward which should help me in the long run"
Watch for Gm Parnell to make some more deals down the road.
